The atmosphere was festive at our Renovation Open House in Gibsons on February 25th. We were lucky enough to be able to re-open the Old Sita’s Spag Shack for the event. This fabulous location combined with the friendly and talented construction professionals we had on hand, made this event a success. We have another Renovation Open House in Pender Harbour on Saturday the 14th of April….check this site for more upcoming events.

Record Setting Concrete Pour at Watermark

These photos show just the beginning for the 21 hour concrete pour, the biggest residential concrete pour ever on the Sunshine Coast. Renovation Hesitation Event at Our House

It was a very successful event last Fall, when we invited the community over to our house for an evening of advice on Home Renovating. We had experts from every trade represented, which made it a great chance for the building community to connect with one another and also it gave the general public an opportunity to get to know us too. More importantly it allowed the people of this community to share expert advice on renovating in a cosy, relaxed setting, along with a little wine and cheese, how could we go wrong. It was such a success and we had such positive feedback from the people involved, that we intend to do it again. This Spring we will launch 3 more Renovation Hesitation open house events. Watermark Excavation Progress

Over 600 truck loads of peat has come out of the Watermark site and the progress continues each day. Leighton our on site Construction Manager overseeing the excavation and project progress. This summer Wakefield worked with AA Robins Architecture to crane in a pre-fabricated building to our clients site in Garden Bay on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. It’s a pretty wild location but seeing that building swinging above the trees is even more wild – check it out:

It was great to see the amount of talent that the west coast has, esspecially when it comes to independent furniture designer’s. Also we have access to some of the most beautiful finishes and light fixtures the world has to offer. Our favourite part of the entire day was the L41 Ultra Compact Home – a tiny 220sq.ft. apartment which is amazingly functional thanks to some very innovative space saving ideas – talk about a small carbon footprint!

Wakefield explores the IDSWest 2011

It was an early start for the Wakefield Business Development team to get from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver’s Convention Centre on Friday the 30th of September for the annual IDSWest event. Well worth it for the team to learn about the latest and greatest products and building practices happening in the world of Interior Design. Many more photos to follow……
